This Janus chasing hammer from Fretz® offers two full-size chasing heads in a single hammer. One face is perpendicular to the handle, suitable for light planishing and ideal for artists who prefer a more contemporary chasing hammer style. The opposite face tilts slightly downward, ideal for traditional chasing techniques. Both faces are flat with rounded edges and have a mirror finish. The 9" handle is rounded to make switching from one face to the other a quick, smooth movement, and the narrowed neck creates a slight springiness that allows some bounce-back with each strike, producing improved control and reduced muscle fatigue.

Designed by Bill Fretz, this jeweler's hammer is built for toughness and durability. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
