It's double-ended, maximizing the available cutting area of the file. The file width tapers to a point, allowing you to access crevices, small openings and details, and tubing or fine round or concave structures.
This file is German Cut #2; German-cut files are graded by the number of teeth, counting teeth parallel to the long axis of the file. German cuts start coarser than Swiss and go finer, offering more increments for more precise cutting. In all cut styles, the higher the number, the finer its cut.
Riffler files are double-ended with a smooth handle area between the two ends and are manufactured in a variety of shapes and profiles.
