This hammer, created by fine tool designer Bill Fretz to the custom specifications of master goldsmith Alan Revere, delivers the combined benefits of two essential hammer faces—a cross-peen face and a goldsmithing face. The cross-peen face moves metal in a single direction, while the goldsmithing face moves metal outward in all directions. The cross-peen face is ideal for forging, riveting and shaping metal; the flat face is useful for planishing, removing the marks left by the cross-peen work. The handle is specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the narrowed neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty; its black finish distinguishes it as one of the Revere line of hammers. The hammer head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
