To help ensure your safety, Rio Grande has designed a specially modified backstop that will not break apart should you have a platinum blowout. This backstop, available exclusively from Rio Grande, can withstand the heat of the spilled metal without weakening and is included with all our vertical casters. If you have an older model caster, we strongly encourage you to order and install this safer backstop in place of the one included with your caster. It retrofits easily in minutes, and fits all vertical casters.
