Sapphire powder, composed of 99.9% aluminum oxide with a 0.05µ fineness, is an excellent choice for soft stones—it will not undercut. Use it to put a high luster on hard stones, too. Best used with a slightly damp leather disc or belt. Mix powder with just enough water to form a paste (not quite toothpaste-thick).
