Dead soft sterling zilver is gemakkelijk te buigen, vormen en hameren; het is een ideaal startpunt voor vormen, modelleren en draadwikkelen. Houd er rekening mee dat de hardheid veranderlijk is (door gloeien of warmteharding) en relatief is tussen metaalsoorten (elke hardheid voelt en gedraagt zich anders van het ene metaal tot het andere). Bij het afwerken van uw stukken, houd ook in gedachten dat hoe harder het metaal is, hoe helderder de afwerking zal zijn. Deze schijf wordt per stuk verkocht, maar geprijsd per ounce.
This 6" sterling silver disc is dead soft, a temper and size that is ideal for use in your Bonny Doon hydraulic press. Dead soft sterling silver is easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wire-wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take.
