De Foredom® uitzetbare trommel is uitstekend geschikt voor gebruik in de edelsteentechniek en vele metaalbewerkings toepassingen zoals het verwijderen van gietkanalen en contour schuren. Ontworpen voor gebruik op een rechter spil (de letters wijzen weg van de motor), zet de trommel uit terwijl het wiel draait, waardoor de band stevig op zijn plaats wordt gehouden (zie de "Waarschuwing" opmerkingen hieronder). Een licht gedempte schuurlaag maakt het gladmaken en vormen van contoured oppervlakken snel en eenvoudig. De ingebouwde bus past op de meeste taps toelopende spindels, wat zorgt voor een snelle en gemakkelijke bevestiging en snelle bandwissels.
The Foredom® expanding drum is excellent for lapidary use as well as many metalworking applications such as sprue removal and contour sanding. Designed to be used on a right-side spindle (lettering faces away from the motor), the drum expands as the wheel rotates, holding the belt firmly in place (see "Caution" notes below). A slightly cushioned sanding surface makes smoothing and shaping of contoured surfaces quick and easy. Built-in bushing accommodates most tapered spindles, providing quick and easy attachment and fast belt changes.
