This Fretz® PrecisionSmith sharp texturing hammer features two tiny faces which are ideal for texturing very small jewelry elements—you can see your piece while you work, and the final texture won't overwhelm the piece. While almost any hammer can be used to create texture on metal, texturing hammers are specially designed for the purpose of creating attractive and unusual textures on your jewelry designs. The pattern on the hammer ace is transferred to the metal with every strike. Scaled-down jewelers’ hammers, PrecisionSmith hammers are ideal for work on lighter metal gauges, and for finely detailed work.
Designed by master metalsmith Bill Fretz, this hammer delivers all the features of a Fretz® hammer. The face size, head as well as the weight, length and pistol-grip end of the handle are all designed to Bill Fretz’s specifications for balance, control and precision. The oil-finished handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty. The handle is specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The head is cast from 420- grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
