Sinusoidal Stake

This small steel sinusoidal stake, made in the U.S. by a master blacksmith, allows you to create synclastic and anticlastic forms in sheet metal; it is ideal for use with plastic or nylon forming hammers. The wave amplitude on this stake tapers from 7/8" to 3/8". During forming, the stake supports the metal while it is worked directly with a hammer. The different curves deliver a variety of options for the artist; by working on different areas of the stake, you can determine the shape and dimension of the metal form.
