Designed by metalsmith and instructor Jay Whaley, the Whaley sliding hammer allows you to precisely move metal and is ideal for a variety of tasks, such as riveting, chasing, repoussé and stone setting. The slender, hollow head of the hammer accommodates a long interchangeable punch that slides back and forth within the hammer, ensuring the punch and hammer are perfectly aligned on every each strike. The pivoting head and rotating punches make it easy to work at any angle the task at hand needs. A retaining screw allows the punches to be changed easily and quickly.
