This small PrecisionSmith riveting hammer from Fretz® is ideal for precise, intricate work. This hammer features one slightly rounded face for riveting or planishing and one narrow, rounded cross-peen. The cross-peen face is ideal for setting rivets; the flat face is used for refining and finishing rivet heads and for general forming applications. Scaled-down jewelers’ hammers, PrecisionSmith hammers are jeweler’s hammers, scaled down to be perfect for use with lighter metal gauges.

Designed by master metalsmith Bill Fretz, this hammer is built for toughness and durability and delivers all the features of a Fretz hammer. The face size, head as well as the weight, length and pistol-grip end of the handle are all designed to Fretz’s specifications for balance, control and precision. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished; it's specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
