Both forward and reverse functions are built in and available. Insert any 3/32" or 1/8" shank tool into the appropriate collet (both collet sizes are provided) and lock the collet into place in the handpiece.Operate the handpiece with either the on/off button on the control box itself or the foot control (included) that plugs easily into the back of the control box. If desired, you can have one handpiece under foot control and the other on manual control.
