Die Foredom®-Expansionstrommel eignet sich hervorragend für Steinschleifereien sowie für viele Metallbearbeitungsanwendungen wie das Entfernen von Angüssen und Konturschleifen. Die Trommel ist für die Verwendung auf einer rechtsseitigen Spindel (mit der Beschriftung vom Motor weg) konzipiert und dehnt sich beim Drehen des Rads aus, wodurch das Band fest an seinem Platz gehalten wird (siehe „Vorsicht“-Hinweise unten). Eine leicht gepolsterte Schleifoberfläche macht das Glätten und Formen von Konturoberflächen schnell und einfach. Die eingebaute Buchse ist für die meisten konischen Spindeln geeignet und ermöglicht eine schnelle und einfache Befestigung sowie einen schnellen Bandwechsel.

The Foredom® expanding drum is excellent for lapidary use as well as many metalworking applications such as sprue removal and contour sanding. Designed to be used on a right-side spindle (lettering faces away from the motor), the drum expands as the wheel rotates, holding the belt firmly in place (see "Caution" notes below). A slightly cushioned sanding surface makes smoothing and shaping of contoured surfaces quick and easy. Built-in bushing accommodates most tapered spindles, providing quick and easy attachment and fast belt changes.
