Raytech Microbrite Porcelain Media

Raytech Microbrite porcelain media gives workpieces a bright finish with less distortion and fewer marks. Porcelain media produces very little wear on surfaces and can be used on delicate parts. You can achieve a bright finish with porcelain ball media; its round shape creates a single contact point, which results in a very fine finish to the areas it touches. While steel media can produce impingement marks on flat surfaces and on some softer metals, porcelain ball media will not leave those marks. Because of its lighter weight, this media is ideal to use for precious metal burnishing, delicate parts, and fine edge blanking. With a lower probability of distortion, porcelain ball media is a great finishing choice for wire forms and other lighter work. Porcelain ball media should be used with a burnishing compound. This preconditioned porcelain ball media requires a break-in period of approximately 4–6 hours (shorter than is typical for other porcelain media). To properly break in this porcelain media, add the recommended amount of media (based on your machine) to the barrel, add polishing or burnishing compound and scrap pieces (nuts, bolts, etc.), then run machine for up to 6 hours. Depending on your tumbler type, additional break-in time might be required.
