Fretz® STH-2 Stamping Hammer

This specially designed hammer from Fretz® offers a removable/replaceable flat brass face that is ideal for striking design stamps, steel forming and shaping tools and will not mar your workpieces. The opposite face is steel, ideal for delivering forceful blows when more power is needed. The hammer has a very solid feel enhanced by a steel rod that is embedded down the center of the handle; the weight of the hammer head is balanced proportionally with the overall hammer to deliver powerful, effective blows. Tighten the handle if needed using the hex nut built into the base of the handle. (Allen wrench is included.)

Designed by master metalsmith Bill Fretz, this hammer is built for toughness and durability, and it delivers all the features of a Fretz® hammer. The face size, head, weight, length and pistol-grip end of the handle are all designed to Fretz’s specifications for balance, control and precision. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished; it's specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
