This round aquamarine features a medium-blue color that provides a great color against any metal type, either on its own or partnered with any other gemstone colors. Its relative hardness makes it a great choice for a ring; set it on its own or pair it with complementary gemstones in blue, green and pastel shades to create complex multicolor pendant, earring and ring designs. Aquamarine is the birthstone for March.
Aquamarine, a transparent pastel blue to green-blue variety of beryl, is relatively abundant and often completely flawless. The crystal structure is hexagonal with striations along the length of the gemstone. Aquamarine gets its name from the Latin words for water and sea; according to folklore, this gemstone helps protect sailors and calm unruly seas.
