The round beads in this labradorite strand feature eye-catching light-blue/green flashes characteristic of labradorite—the beads are light brown/gray and the amount of labradorescence varies from bead to bead. String the beads on their own to create a necklace or separate the beads and combine them with other colors and styles of stone and metal beads or pearls to highlight the beads’ unique color flashes.Labradorite displays a unique reflection of light that is known as 'labradorescence.' This effect is due to geometric planes within the mineral structure at a submicroscopic level that are almost always oriented in one direction, but in such a way that they cannot be expressed by simple indices.
