These Swanstrom parallel-action heavy-duty chain-nose pliers (NR1722) offer an extra-secure grip on your workpiece or wire. The pliers are designed for the highest level of strength, durability and comfort; they are ideal for heavy-duty work—forming loops, crimping and creating angled bends and forming smooth curves in heavy-gauge sheet and wire. On chain-nose pliers, both jaws are semi-round with flat interior surfaces, tapering to a point from the back of the jaws to the tip. Parallel action pliers close first at the tips, then the rest of the jaws close as the pliers are squeezed. This ensures a strong, even grip on your workpiece. • The compound joint keeps the jaws parallel as they open and close, and deliver even pressure along the entire length of the jaw, eliminating slipping. • The double-leaf spring holds the pliers open and ready to use until they are squeezed closed and delivers a fast, strong rebound for improved productivity. • The Soft-Touch™ sure-grip foam handles are longer, wider and ergonomically designed for maximum comfort over extended periods of use.
