This Fretz® small embossing hammer features two cone-shaped faces for embossing and texturing; it is ideal for precise, intricate metal work such as filigree, and for creating custom bezels and small vessel forms. Scaled-down jewelers’ hammers, PrecisionSmith hammers are perfect for use with lighter metal gauges. It can produce dramatic texturing on flat or curved metal, and is ideal for doming or stretching metal. Work pieces from the back or inside to create raised, three-dimensional forms, a technique also known as repoussé.

Designed by Bill Fretz, this hammer is built for toughness and durability and delivers all the features of a Fretz hammer. The face size, head as well as the weight, length and pistol-grip end of the handle are all designed to Fretz’s specifications for balance, control and precision. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished; it's specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer for ultimate comfort. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
