Online Retailers See Lift in Conversions Over the Last Year, Mostly from Website Testing & Optimization
The last couple of years have seen significant growth in an interest in and commitment to website testing and optimization. With this growth, e-retailers and other e-commerce businesses across industry verticals have seen notable improvement in performance, conversions, usability and sales. The effort requires company-wide buy-in, careful strategic planning and calculated execution, but the rewards, as many have seen, are well-worth it. Some would even say such efforts have been crucial for survival in an evolving market where mass anything is out, and customization is definitely in.
Recent research from Forrester and Shop.org found that an impressive 65 percent of online retailers surveyed have enjoyed improved conversion rates over the last year due largely to testing, better checkout processes, and other general improvements.
